When it comes to wellness treatments, our face and skin take priority. With pampering facials, anti-ageing masks and skin care at the forefront of our daily beauty routines. Hair, on the other hand, often takes a back seat when it comes to health and maintenance.
Regular colouring, blow-drys and styling take their toll, even on the bounciest and healthiest set of locks, and what do we give it in return? Up until now, not much. Hair masks and treatments are usually reserved for salon appointments and yet we expect so much in return.
However that’s all about to change. The arrival of the KODA hair facial in Australia is going to revolutionise the way we look after our hair and scalp. This seriously luxurious treatment has just arrived at KODA QVB and may just be the solution for year round healthy hair, no matter what we do to it.
A necessary indulgence
The viral hair facial is a five-step treatment that will completely overhaul dry and brittle hair, whether it’s coloured or not. You’ll not just reap the benefits for 3 or 4 days afterwards after but weeks post treatment. And it’s not just reserved for dry hair, it will revitalise and transform all hair types while helping to stimulate new hair growth.
What to expect from the KODA hair facial
There are five-steps in this luxurious treatment, each one designed to give you, your scalp and your hair the ultimate love. Using products hand picked from the Davines range, this hair facial is a journey I’m happy to take on a monthly basis. Here’s how it works;
-
Step 1
A sensory scalp, head and shoulder massage using an ambience and oil spray hand picked from the Italian made Davines range. The aromatic oil is massaged into your scalp and through your hair. And it doesn’t end there. Your neck, shoulders and top of your arms are also included in this relaxing first step.
-
Step 2
You’ll be moved to the basin where an elevating clay super mask is applied to the roots of your hair and massaged into your scalp. Once it emulsifies it does its work, detoxifying hair roots for a thorough clean. This is similar to the cleansing part of your skin routine, once applied to your dry hair the mask is left on for 10 minutes.
-
Step 3
Using more of the Davines range your hair is shampooed and rinsed twice. Sometimes hair can feel incredibly dry after just one shampoo, but not with this range of hair products. By this step you’ll already start to feel the benefits of the facial and the best is still yet to come.
-
Step 4
After the shampoo a vegetarian miracle mask is applied from the roots to the ends of your hair. Designed to moisturise and gloss, this mask targets dry and brittle hair. If you don’t have dry hair, the mask chosen will be personalised to what your hair needs. There’s a different mask option for every type of hair, including a volume mask for thin hair and an anti-frizz mask for coarse hair. Your stylist will let you know what you need.
-
Step 5
With your mask on, you and your hair are then treated to the Minotti steam basin, one of the best pieces of beauty treatment equipment you’ll ever experience. With hot steam swirling around your head you’ll feel the mask seeping into your scalp and hair. If you’re the type of person who books a skin facial just for the steam, then you are going to love this step.
Finally when the steam session ends, your hair is rinsed and dried off, and you’ll be left completely satisfied with just how effective this hour long hair treatment is.
How it works
While you may think heat isn’t good for your hair, steam is one of the most natural ways to rejuvenate dry and damaged hair while stimulating new hair growth. The steam hydrates your scalp and your hair follicles which means they can rapidly absorb whatever treatment is applied.
The heat produced from the steam stimulates blood flow and circulation which in turn helps to prevent breakage and split ends, particularly with coloured hair.
The steam also helps to cleanse and detoxify your scalp, eliminating soapy buildup and toxins but not stripping your hair of its natural oils.
The end result
Your hair will immediately feel soft and nourished, but that’s not where it ends. Long after you leave the salon chair, your hair and scalp will continue to reap the benefits. You’ll also feel relaxed and rejuvenated as the hair facial is designed to be a sensory experience.
Where to book
KODA QVB is the first salon in Australia to introduce this 5 step hair facial, with integrated treatments targeted for all hair types.
You have 6 different products to choose from, all from the natural Davines range. See the range you’ll be offered here.
Included in the hair facial is a dry off, which means the back of your hair is dried and only the front is styled. So if you’re wanting a full blow-dry at the end of your facial you’ll need to book one.
Put aside an hour for the hair facial and use the time to relax and unwind. This is a beauty treatment you can easily add to your regime once a week, once a month or every time you have a cut and colour.
The hair facial is already trending on TIK TOK and it won’t be long before it’s part of your regular beauty routine. See what the fuss is all about and book your hair facial at KODA QVB.
